Fucking Music

I made a playlist for my dear friend Iskra for her 30th B-Day. Big day, big playlist. Point is, I went overboard as usual and didn't keep things simple. You'd think that there's only so far dropboxing some files to someone in Sweden could go, but I made some album art, and managed to spend a good few hours downloading programs trying to make it the album art icon for all the songs. Way harder than it seems and I actually failed. I'm into this drawing though. I'd really like to get more into making album art. If anybody happen to want this or a variant of it for a real album cover or show poster, let me know. I'd really like to make screen printed posters of it.
Oh yeah, the name of the playlist sort of comes from something an old crew boss of mine used to say when he thought a track was particularly sexy and a joke I subsequently made of it.

Wild Ways

My friend and roommate Conrad released his band's first EP recently and used my multiple exposure photos from Burning Man three years ago as the album cover! So cool. You should listen to his album and/or download it for free.

My print is up in the Art Republic Gallery in London. It's there on the back wall bottom. Apparently one of the prints above it by one of the ''Kings of Pop Art''. That's pretty cool I guess.

Apparently 20 or so prints have sold from the production I did in LA. They're still online . Alright, alright. Not the best, not the worst.

Festival Face Paint Sessions

I love face painting! It's super fun! It's just another form of ephemeral art when you think about it.

Weather Spice got her face painted her namesake at Shambhala. Richard Coleman inspired.

I really like this one. Bad picture though. Sorry Gilda.

I painted Ilana's face to match my mural at Burning Man.

Pine Cone vs Feather: Burning Man Mural

I painted a mural this year at Burning Man in center camp. I got into the festival 2 days early to do it and it was pretty much a non-stop process. I pulled an all nighter on the Sunday before the gates opened to the general public so I could start festivaling myself. It is a bigger version of this sketch http://shouldercat.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-planters-ball.html from the Planter's Ball in June. I decided to chose a lighter, more positive, less critical theme than usual to try and be more in the Burning Man spirit and less of an asshole. I think it was a good choice. I guess this is the 3rd mural I've ever done (see 'mural' label at the bottom), and it's the first all just acrylic with paint brush and permanent marker. I went for a very illustrative not so street art style. That is all.
